Quetico Provincial Park is a world renowned canoeing paradise with a vast wilderness of interconnecting lakes and rivers with amazing views of cliffs, waterfalls, wildlife and forests. Located on the Canadian Shield and with a mixed forest region this park has a range of animal and plant species for you to discover.

What Can I Do?
Quetico is one of Ontario’s most prestigious, oldest and largest parks. It provides a range of outdoor adventures including:
  • Summer and Winter Camping
  • Canoeing & some Kayaking
  • Skiing and snowshoeing
  • Hiking and Swimming
Or just come for the day and enjoy the solitude of the northern landscape.

How do I get there?
Quetico has the Dawson Trail Campground located just off Hwy 11 on French Lake, 48 km east of Atikokan on Highway 11 and 167 km west of Thunder Bay. There are 107 campsites, 49 electrical with some pull through options for larger campers. Nearby you will find spectacular beaches, a playground, trails and nature centre. The Quetico Information Pavilion and John B. Ridley Research Library are also located at Dawson Trail. Here you can read about Quetico’s natural and cultural history, view artifacts, videos, photographs and books. The park has six entry stations located around the perimeter of the park. Being a wilderness park, mechanized vehicles, bottles and cans are banned in the park. Permits are required to enter the park. Enjoy your visit to Quetico!

All Year Round!
Yurts are available for rent at Dawson Trail Campground. They sleep up to six, with electricity, table, chairs, barbeque, and outdoor fire pit. Firewood is included in the rental cost.

Ski, snowshoe or hike right out your front door. The Nature Centre and Education Programs are available all summer and can be booked for individual groups planning to visit the park.
