Nestled on French Lake off Highway 11, Dawson Trail Campground offers a perfect base for exploring Quetico Provincial Park. Located 48 km east of Atikokan, the campground features 107 campsites, including 49 electrical sites with pull-through options for larger vehicles. Comfort stations with showers and a winterized facility ensure visitor comfort.
Yurt accommodations provide a unique camping experience, sleeping up to 6 people and including electricity, furniture, a barbecue, fire pit, and complimentary firewood. The camping season runs from May to October, with year-round activities including summer canoeing and swimming, and winter skiing and snowshoeing.
Park attractions include spectacular beaches, a playground, hiking trails, and the Ranger Nature Centre. Visitors can explore the Quetico Information Pavilion and John B. Ridley Research Library to discover the park’s rich natural and cultural history. Interactive exhibits and educational programs make this a perfect destination for families and nature enthusiasts.
